Sound HoleThe Sound Hole (sáwnd hól) is the hole that is used to amplify the volume of an acoustic guitar. When a guitar plucks or strums the string of the guitar, the air in the guitar reverberated inside the hollow body of an acoustic guitar and comes out of the sound hole as acoustic sound.

Most sound holes are directly in the middle of a guitar and are usually no more than 12 inches in diameter; however, some guitars have different sound hole shapes and placements.
